    Great experience

I have been speaking to Astrolady (your forum administrator) before posting this as I wanted to ensure I was doing the right thing.

My name is Anthony Smith and I am the marketing manager looking after one of our maternity programs at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach. The easiest way to describe this is it is a service for mothers to have their baby at a nearby hospital; then are chauffeur driven to the hotel and accommodated for in specially designed rooms by the beach with specialized care, menu?s etc.

I have come across your interesting forum and wanted to post a question regarding what kind of services a mother would like for the following:

Anniversary stay: For mothers day or just to come back to the hotel with the family. (We are thinking a spa treatment and complimentary baby sitting for the night)

Extended stay after one week in the hotel for the modified rooms: Mothers wishing to stay on after their one week maternity package. (We are thinking a discounted rate and access to the specialized menu on the program)

Everybody's help with this would be greatly appreciated. If you have any direct feedback please email me at anthony dot smith at ihg dot com

    Thank you.

I think I get what you mean/what you are asking...
Anniversary stay- prob not the babysitting as would hardly take bub if I was going to stay at a nice hotel for an anniversary, but would like a bottle of bubbly and a spa treatment.
Extended stay- yes, discounted rate and the special menu. And perhaps a choice from a list of options for the mother ie list could include a choice of (for eg) a massage, or complimentary laundry service, a nappy service, complementary inhouse movies etc

I'd use a babysitter for an anniversary stay because I have no-one else I can leave DD with overnight so that would be a FANTASTIC option for me personally. Anyway, I would want her to be there but also have the flexibility to go out for dinner.

Will get my thinking cap on re other stuff.

I would like to have the aniversary stay with the room well accomadated for having the baby there too, and to have baby sitting available. We dont have anyone who could look after our baby, so we never get to go out. And as he is still young, I would like to be able to dine and romance for a few hrs but then get him handed back for feeds and the night.

I also like the extended post birth stay, but it would have to be right. I would want to stay there within day 1 - 3 of birth and stay for up to a week perhaps. The place would need to be set up well for allowing visitors, hmm, but then again maybe goin to hotel for a few days after the hospital bt before going home would be good for a break from guests and give more exclusive undistrubed bonding time? ...Im not so sure how well that idea would work actually.
A lot of woman just want to get home after having bubs and get on with things I think...

Anything marketed towards special 'mummy/me time' thats reduced rate and specialized menu sounds great to me. I would be considering it if I lived local.

i think the anniversary stay sounds nice - as long as they had a good birthing experience - otherwise could be traumatic.

And i am not sure about the extended stay?

In my honest opinion - all i wanted to do was get home in my own environment and get settled after my babies were born. i wouldnt want to stay longer than my care required me to .
