Am currently borrowing a Grobag from a friend, bought a 2.5TOG one on SIDS website the other day and a 1TOG one too from ebay. Just wondering, what do you dress your kids when they are in the 2.5TOG one? I normally put a warm wondersuit on my DD and then into her Grobag at night. Do you think she may be too hot? Otherwise, maybe just a PJ top and nappy so at least she has sleeves on?
Depend where you are I guess and how cold it is, but we are in Melbourne and Izzy is in a 2.5 bag, a s/s jumpsuit, a l/s Bonds polar fleece jumpsuit, plus blankets!! She is never hot overnight but her room now can drop to around 10 overnight.
When she was younger she would have a normal cotton l/s jumpsuit on not a polar fleece one but we had a little heater on in her room that kept it at 16 degrees overnight - she still had blankets over her too.
In the cold weather my DD has a normal pair of PJs on plus her 2.5 grobag. ANd she is fine. When she was younger, she wore just one layer on a wondersuit (furry one) and her bag. I had a lighter grobag for day sleeps...
sounds good! i am in qld so it isn't too cold (well compared to melbourne!). But I have heard it will be 7 degrees on thursday night, oh no! thanks so much for your help. I think a 1TOG would be better through the day. I am still using the 2.5TOG through day but can't wait for the 1TOG to arrive!
I don't use one during the day at all. He's in a tracksuit anyway. At night though it depends on temp (we're in Brisbane). So, lately as it's gotten colder he's in a l/s bodysuit with a socksuit (the grobag ones) or l/s and long leg pj's (just the t/shirt material type) and in his 2.5 tog. We do have the heater on to keep the room between about 16-20 degrees. At the moment he's got a cold so he's in a singlet suit, then pj's and 2.5 tog cos he's had a bit of a temp so doc said better to dress a bit cooler than to have him get too hot. If I did use one in the day then I'd prob use the 1 tog which is also what I use at night when it's autumn/spring. Personally, I love grobags so much..lol.
I don't use one during the day. We are at Sydney and I don't run the heater at night, so Oliver has the following:
Singlet
Wondersuit
2.5tog sleeveless sleeping bag
sheet
2 x fleece blankets
He wakes up with anything less. I expect I might have to add another blanket if it gets colder.
I like the sleeping bags because he can't scoot around so well in it. Without it he ends up without any blankets on and with his feet poking between the bars.
