    Black Poo

My DD2 is 14 months. Last night i changed her nappy and her poo was black! It stained her skin and i had to wipe quite hard to get it off her skin- i was so shocked! It didnt smell offensive, actually it reminded me of iron supplement poo, just not as sticky iykwim? She also did another on this morning.
She has a runny nose at the moment and hasnt eaten anything new. She seems herself i guess, a bit out of sorts but i just put that down to her runny nose.
Should i be worried? Anyone experienced something simillar with their bubba?

Is she having any medication for her cold or anything?

The only thing I can think of is if I give DD1 an oreo she has black poo the next day.

No, shes not on any medication for her cold and she's not had any food colouring.
Yeah I will call the health line just to make sure.
Thanks so much for your replies x

ETA- I just rang our MCHN and she suggested I take her to the Dr's today to get her checked as it could indicate bleeding in the bowel. She did also say that bleeding in the bowel causes offensive sticky poo, which DD doesn't have, but she said it will be best to get checked anyway.

    Ok, back again....
I was just doing some googling and came accross an answer to a question on another forum. The person asked if her son had eaten blueberries recently as that turned her sons poo black - it reminded me that DD had eaten blueberries a couple of days ago!! I feel a bit silly right now....

Dont feel silly it's a legitimate question, how were you to know blueberries would turn her poo black? I'd still take her to the doctor if she does another black poo though, just to be safe.

LOL well there you go, natures own food colouring

Don't feel silly......you'd feel silly if it WAS bleeding in the bowel and hadn't asked about it at all!
