We put DS in his hammock next to our bed from day 2 (hahaha DS, that's a bit weird to type after DD!) We wrap him in a muslin with a blanket as required. We haven't had any problems so far, he's a pretty spewy baby so occasionally we get a bit of a gag and choke but just have to get him up, no different to what we would have to in a bassinet. Our hardest part is trying to keep the little 'rolls' that you put on either side in place to put him in there
