Question Has anyone used a Safe T Sleep wrap?

Just wondering if anyone has tried a Safe T Sleep? DD is rolling over in her cot and it is really disrupting her sleep (and mine LOL). She is swaddled because it's the only way she will sleep so I don't like her lying on her tummy too. Last night I swaddled her, used our anti-roll pillow and tucked her in tightly with a big stretchy blanket and she didn't roll once - woohoo! What's the problem then you ask? Last night was cold which is why I brought the blanket out, but it's normally hot at night due to it being Summer! I don't have anything light enough that could also tuck her in tightly enough (I've tried a cot sheet).

I had a look online at the Safe T Sleep wrap, but I'm not sure about it and was hoping someone on BB has used one and could tell me what they think! Would it be too hot to use in summer? Can you still swaddle your bub when using it?

They are pretty expensive so I don't want to rush out and buy one without knowing if they are any good!

If anyone has used one, I'd love it if you could tell me about it

I have a friend who uses it loves it.

She uses it in Brisbane, so no issues with the heat, but can't tell you much more I'm afraid.

    Thank HM .

I might look at getting one on eBay and if it doesn't work I'll just sell it again

I was desparate one day, and needed something straight away so I got a fitted sheet and then sewed a strip of material to it that was the same width of the Safe T Wrap, and tied that around DS. I know this sounds horrible, like I was tieing DS to his bed!! But it's really the same as the Safe T Wrap. I only used it during the day and even then only for a few months. If you didn't need something immeidately I'm sure you could get some velcro from Spotlight so it doesn't seem so barbaric LOL. When I showed Mum she said she made something similar when I was a baby, so i didn't feel so bad.....

It did serve it's purpose for us, but DS began to hate it because he wanted to roll around a bit when he was a bit older when he was settling.

Ooh! I used one when DD was about 6 months or so. It was a godsend for us at the time - she was rolling onto her belly and getting stuck and crying all the time because she couldn't get back over. It does seem a bit horrible strapping them to their beds, but it meant DD was secure. They are SIDS approved, so shouldn't be anything to worry about.

I used to wrap DD at this time, but didn't wrap her with the safety sleep (I don't think it would work). This was a way I eased her out of needing to be wrapped. It was summer too, and after this I didn't wrap anymore. They are very lightweight and only go across the chest area, so if you needed to keep bubs cool, you can have nothing on their legs and just a singlet, like you normally would and they definitely wouldn't get hot.

I didn't use it for all that long - it did frustrate her a bit and when she could easily roll back over we ended up stopping. Although it was expensive it was worth it for that period of time and our peace! You can also use it on a single bed (which we did once) so that you don't need a cot when out and about.

If you have any more questions, I'm happy to answer.
