He doesnt want to play with me!!!

Not even sure why Im posting this.....I mean I know DS is a little person and everyone likes space away from people....but I dunno it seems kinda weird.
A little background info....DS isnt an overly clingy baby (yea he has his days but its rare) normally he is quite happy for me to play with him and read him stories until its time for his nap. But yesterday and today he will fight and cry everytime I try to do these things (even peek-a-boo and tickles dont get a smile) but as soon as I put him in his rocker he will goo and coo and be totally happy. If I walk over and talk to him, he is all gorgeous smiles and laughs, but as soon as i take him out of the rocker its tears again!
At first it was great, I got some housework done and had a coffee with DH....but today he's still the same and I keep looking at him thinking isnt he bored just sitting there, arent I supposed to be playing with him to help him learn, develop etc???
Like I said Im not sure why im posting this, I guess Im just curious if anyone else's bubba goes thru "downtime" like this???

Yes, absolutely. Both my boys went through that at about 4 months. It was almost like they needed a break from stimulation. After a few days they wanted to interact a lot again. I also found that both of them were more interested in their surroundings and more 'aware' after the downtime. Maybe it was just me but that was how it seemed anyway.

Aww hun, he like to just look at you

I know it's frustrating. After dd I thought ds would be on me 24/7, but he took me by surprise and was happy to play on the floor on his own and even fall asleep by himself. Very weird to me.

You could put him in his stroller and push him around with you. When you are doing dishes put him where he can see you and smile at him or sing songs. When you take out the laundry, take him with you.

You don't need to play with him every waking moment, sometimes they are just happy to sit and stare at you (they are men )

LOL Thanks Nadine!!!! Ive been bringing his rocker into the office with me and putting music on for him....he seems happy enough with that for now.

Thanks Chocaholic....thats so reassuring that both your boys went thru the same thing at about this age!

Hopefully its just a phase....I miss my baby cuddles already lol!! If he's like that again today, instead of worrying I will try to get all those things done that I never seem to have time for
