Eleanor is sick at the moment with a cold and has started to refuse formula in the last 24hrs she's had 400mls and this morning will scream if you go near her with a bottle even if it has water in it. She's not sleep well at all and when she is awake just screams because she is so tired. Her temp is up an down but i think the panadol helps that it has been at 38 on and off through out the day.
Is there anything else i can try before i go to a Dr or is it best just to get her to the Dr's ?
She's been like this since Sunday and i have also been using Demazin.
If you're worried I'd say go to the Dr's, in the meantime while you waiting you could try maybe giving water thru a syringe, so just give 5-10mls every so often.
I'd take her to a doctor Michelle. Just to be on the safe side but wewill often do what Shell has suggested...syrige a small amount of water into her mouth every few minutes.
Michelle I would be straight to the doctor specially with her refusing to eat/drink etc. Ashton is very sick as well even after being on antibiotics for a week, we were back at the doctor this morning and now going in for chest xrays and doing urine samples. Let us know how you go.
I got Eleanor to the doctors and she has a flemy (sp?) cough and they can't gove her AB's for it we just have to wait till it's run it's course which can take a week. If she gets worse then to take her back as it can develop into a ear infection.
Eleanor is slowly getting better she has also been in contact with German Measles so not sure if she has caught that or even had it before as she had a small rash around her neck the other week.
Oh Michelle... I hope Eleanor gets better soon.
It is so scary, this flu thats going around. My DD had it, and we had her up at the emergency ward the other night with a high temp etc... they did urine tests and all that, then sent her home, and told us just to keep giving her panadol and keep her fluids up... she is better now thankfully.
Eleanor has now come out in a rash so i took her to the doctors and she has Roseola which i have never heard of before now. The rash shouldn't last long at all but it means any child between 6months and 3years that we have been near in the last 2wks might have caught it from her. I am now waiting to see if Alex has caught it as he has also been ill with a temp.
