I went straight from highchair to a booster seat with armrests that sat in nice and close to the table. I did it at around 2 with my first, and about 14months with the second. It worked well for us.
DD is still in her highchair but without the tray on it so she's right up with us, plate ont he table, will probably keep her in that til next bubs needs the highchair then she can use the booster! i prefer taht we all eat together
jack is still in his highchair I am slack and it is easier as he is contanined and eats where as when he is sits at table or at his little one he tends to graze and not eat a lot
We stopped using a high chair just after Claire turned 1. She was using a chair & table at daycare, so we got a small chair and table for her for home because she seemed to prefer it. She still does use a high chair at my parents place though.
We have a small table and chairs which we use during the day for Nina, and at dinner time she sits at the table with us. Occassionally she'll ask to sit in the highchair, but not often. Some kids tend to keep leaving the table to play, others don't. Nina doesn't, but that's because she enjoys her food too much
