    Home-made toys?

Today I made a couple of simple toys for DS (almost 4 months old).

    1. I sewed some bells onto a pair of socks, so they jingle when he kicks.

    2. I put a couple of bells inside a sock and sewed it closed. This made a great rattle because it was easy for him to grasp & jiggle around without injuring himself (as he does on some of the hard plastic ones!!).

So anyway, I was wondering what toys other people make for their bubbas. I'm keen for more ideas!

You can't go past rice in a plastic bottle!

Also, kids love 'posting' things. Cut a hole in the lid of a container big enough to fit shapes through and off you go.

Playdough - need I say more??

Strips of crackly plastic shopping bags sewn into an orange or onion bag, they love the noise!

a couple of buckets of water and some plastic cups
if your feeling a bit creative you can expand on the rice in the water bottle idea -put in a bit of water a few drops of food colouring and some glitter and superglue the lid on. Or you can use a couple of shiny beads and a few bits of coloured paper and a little bit of rice (but no water in this one lol). Or whatever takes your fancy really
