    Do babies have nightmares?

    Evening fellow bbers!

I was just wondering if babies have nightmares cos 2 evenings in a row lachlan has woken up all of a sudden CRYING. he NEVER wakes up crying - not ever. its like he's upset about something and i put his dummy in rock him, pick him up and seems ok. check his lil bod etc to make sure nothing wrong there.

the odd thing i was thinking was he's woken up around 6pm - he was born at 6.18pm. he's not dreaming bout his birth is he - i mean babies have no concept of time really huh?

probs a stupid q but just wondered anyway.....anyone?

hi! my ds started doing the same thing and I wondered the same thing roughly around the same age....anyhoo a few weeks later, out pooped his bottom teeth!
Then it started again a few weeks back, now he has his top 2! so I have put it down to teething, in my ds case anyway.

I think sometimes it is a pain, maybe a bit of wind. Not sure though.

yes they can have nightmares. I don't know if they would about birth... that's an interesting thought...

But I know they can because Jaidan was never a screamer, used to wake up babbling and happy. Caught him watching a scary movie on accident, he was about 4 months old, he had nightmares for a couple of weeks every night! I know he probably didn't know what it was about but the music and screaming and sudden noises probably scared the bejeezus out of him. I never left the telly on while I left the room again!
