How about turning on some music and having a boogie? It's a great form of exercise for you also! You could also try reading a book if he'll sit still, or pulling funny faces and playing peek-a-boo.
How do you entertain your baby? I want to limit the TV watching my 7 month boy does, but I run out of ideas on how to entertain him. He does play well alone for short periods of time but I want to play together too. We go for a walk every afternoon and he enjoys that, but I want some ideas on activities we can do in the mornings at home. DH has the car, so we can't go to the shops etc.

I have a baby play book by Gymbaree but do a google search for baby play and you should find some great play activities.![]()
We were talking about this in our Nov2006 Baby Buddies thread. Soft drink bottles are a great cheap toy, fill them with shampoo mixed with glitter, or 3 parts water to 1part oil and some food colouring. you could also put rattley things in them but obviously make sure the lid cant come off in case of choking!
Also, find things in the kitchen to play with, plastic spoons/egg flips/bag clips etc, or pots and pans are noisy fun!
If he's on solids you can put different foods on his high chair tray to play with, like yogurt/jelly/cornflour mixed with water
Have you subscribed to some websites? Babycenter and Fisher Price email you with baby milestones and they often have ideas of things to do with baby.
Thats all i can think of at the moment, hope that helps!
Thanks for your ideas. I have now organised our day and have heaps of activities planned to keep every new day exciting.
do you have a toy library? they might have some ideas of different toys you can hire and different activities as well.
Moving this to Baby & Toddler General Discussion.
Join the regular library and take him in there every week for storytime. Borrow one or two books to read to him each week, he will love it if you repeat the same stories over and over!
