Variable length of day sleeps in my 14mth old

hi there!

just wondering if anyone has a bubs that does the same thing as mine....

my 14mth old DS has varying day sleeps from day-to-day. eg, one day, he might have a 2.5hr nap, the next day, he'll only sleep 45mins. he's had 1 day nap for quite a few months now, and it's always been like this - unpredictable. there's no pattern.

he usually has 12 hours overnight, sometimes this varies from 11.5hrs to 12.5hrs, but its roughly the same.

i just cant work it out! does your bubs do this too?

Sounds so familiar and perfectly normal at that age. 12 hours overnight - anything from 45 mins to 2.5 hrs during the day - I could have written this!

The amount of sleep probably depends on activity level during the day and whether he is going through a growth spurt. I find it does anyway! I think they always look taller when they have the longer sleeps during the day - or is that just me?

Sweety that's pretty normal, all of mine have done/am doing the same thing.

Yep - Louis has anywhere from 1 1/2 - 3 hours! (when he eventually goes to sleep - LOL!)
