how do you shower w/baby and toddler?

Today in the shower i was pondering how I will manage a shower with a toddler and a new born.... When DS was little I'd put him in his basket or swing in the bathroom.... And it was easy that way but now that he is older he usually jumps on my bed or plays in my wardrobe

with a baby I know I'll have to watch them every second as DS is getting a little rougher now and will probably try and pick up the baby.

So the swing would work but DS might try and lift the baby out although he wouldn't be able to, I was just thinking how other do it, and with more than two as well......

do they just know not to hurt each other ? Hmmmm

I've just taught my girls about being gentle with the baby. I usually shower when bub is sleeping. The girls either come in with me, or they have a play in my room while I shower (so I can keep an eye on them) and the monitor is on in the bahtroom so I can hear bub too.

I used to get Oskar to grab some cars to "park on the mat" in the bathroom, pop Elijah in the rocker and I could see both of them. Showers are mega quick lol. I did have to tell Oskar still though to leave Elijah alone haha. You manage cos you have to... or you wait til DH is home too.

I either wait till DP is home or I have a shower with DD1 in the evening and sit DD2 in her rocker just outside the door if she is not asleep

I used to either shower at night when DH home or would put DS2 in bouncer or swing in bathroom and DS1 would roam, I would still often have to say leave him alone or dont touch him etc. Showers were mega quick or I would shower when DS1 was asleep as he slept 1pm till 3 or 4 pm.

You cope cause you have too!

Lol sounds like fun, DS is great but I guess I'll wait til the bubba is asleep and have the monitor in there too. With DS roaming some great ideas though......

I shower with my kids - joys of a double shower head. They have one end with all their toys and I have the other Often I do it when DH is home and we all shower together. DD2 has been showering with us since she as about 3 months old as well. I just gave her tummy time in the shower. She loved it because she could slide all over the place and she was mobile. Before that, I used to shower while she was asleep. We have lights on the baby monitor so I would just leave it where I could see it and could tell if she was crying because the lights would go on it.

I have started showering in the evening and given up on morning showers - unless I need to wash the kids because we have been doing something messy. We do have a bath tub as well, but I have found they loooove the shower and with 3 kids, it is easier and safer to use the shower when I am here by myself.

In the beginning i would have a shower when DD2 was asleep and often would bring DD1 in with me, do you have a porta-cot?
I used mine once or twice if DD2 was awake and DD1 was occupied and would sit her in the swing in that so DD2 couldn't get in.
The other thing i did once DD2 was old enough to sit was put her in her bath seat in the bath tub while DD1 walked around the bathroom

You will find something that works for you hun i promise.

I usually put them in the shower with me (it is getting awful cramped in there with four of us though) they all sit / play on the floor while I stand up and shower. When I didn't / don't feel like having them all in with me, I make sure the baby is in the cot (so the others couldn't get him when he was little, and so he cann't get into anything else now he is bigger) and put the other kids in the lounge with toys and TV. I always leave the door open so I can hear any screaming (usually someone pulling someone else's hair).
