DS2s dropped off after about 5-6 days, but what;s left is taking its time healing. There is still parts that are not dried out, and i dont know how they will, as his naval is half in and half out -- so the in parts never get any air on them and so are still a bit "goopy" instead ofdrying out and falling off.
Is it usual to take this long, I dont remember this happening with DS1
I can't remember how long exactly but DS's took ages. It was really goopy, as you described. I just kept putting BM on it, every nappy change (with clean hands of course ), and it did eventually clear up.
ETA My DS has a belly button like that, half in, half out. I guess that's why it takes longer for it to heal.
Thanks! I cant get to it without physically pulling it out though, which im hesitant to do. It doesnt look infected..i think i will just ask mchn on tuesday about it.
My sons took 14 days. Towards the end it went yukky like it started to smell and was a bit weepy, i thought it was infected but the doctor said it was healing fine.
Nate's was the same Ray. It smelled and was gross. I was cleaning it with EBM and clean water on a cotton bud.
There are no nerve endings in that part of the belly button, so it won't hurt him to clean it out.
Nate's took agggges to heal.
