How long was your child in a toddler bed?

DD3 turns 2 next week and at the moment is still in a cot, which is fine. With our other two girls when the time came they went from a cot into a normal single bed & we used a bed rail. We are soon moving towns and going from a 4 bedroom house to a smallish 3 bedroom house (only house available in a small mining town). I was thinking maybe DD3 could go into a toddler bed, to save room for a while and while we set everything up properly. For those of you who used a toddler bed for your kids how long we're they in them for? What age etc? DD2 is only average height so not a long child and still fits comfortably in her cot.

My nephew is 3.5 and moving from his toddler bed into a single. My SIL wanted to move him months ago but he grew very attached to his little bed.

DS1 is only 20 months and will be in his toddler bed for at least another year to 18 months until DS2 is ready to move out of the cot at which point, due to them being so close in age, and us being in a 3 bedroom house, we will get bunk beds

DD is still in hers - she will be 5 in September. She still fits, but won't be for long. Planning on buying a single bed in the mid year sales.

It's very cosy in there when she's got all her babies with her!
