For breakfast DD will usually have 1 1/2 weetbix or some toast. For lunch she might have a slice a bread with vegemite or if i can't get her to eat that a piece of fruit. But then I can't get her to eat anything at dinner time. During the day she might snack on a rice cake or a museli bar, she usually has a bit of yoghurt too. She still has a bottle at sleep time (after lunch) and one at night time.
But like I said I can't get her to eat anything at night. She might be lucky if she has 3 mouthfuls of whatever I cook for her. I vary the foods so she doesn't get bored with what I cook for her. When we saw the paed last week he said he was happy with her weight etc. Do I just keep giving her whatever she'll eat. I don't want to create a fussy eater though. She sleeps through at night (unless of course shes sick or something)
Is this just a phase shes going through? Should I be worried about it??
You can try giving her dinner at lunchtime if you're worried about nutrients. I found I had to severely limit afternoon snacks (or make sure they weren't carbs, at least) if I wanted any dinner to be eaten.
As I understand it, your stomach is the size of your fist and that's about how much you should eat at any one time. It would be very unusual for a toddler to starve themselves - they're generally much better at regulating what they need than adults.
Have you tried finger foods for dinner? DD used to prefer a plate of avocado cubes, cheese, chicken pieces, fruit cubes etc., over something that needed to be fed to her.
Anyway, I think she's normal -she'll eat what you give her if she's really hungry.
