I feel a bit sad but the day was coming. Little Miss Olivia keeping climbing in and out of it s we were worried she was really going to hurt herself. So after she managed to make one of the connections at the end come out yet again I just went in there and took it down and put her toddler bed in there..
She was so excited lol. Normally her day sleeps are on our bed but she wanted her new bed and was asleep in 5 minutes
Fingers crossed she sleeps well tonight
I feel sad about my cot. It has served me well for my 4 babies over 10 years. I can't bear to give it away just yet so it will go in storage under my house for the time being
Maybe if you have enough storage under the house you could keep it.
I remember when I was little visiting my Gran's house and the cot there was the one that my Dad had slept in - I thought that it was the coolest thing ever.
aw Nic, it is sad that this phase of your family life is comming to an end.
I have just put away Eva's newborn clothes and I was so sad that I won't be getting them out again. I just don't have the heart to part with them yet either.
Oh I would love to keep it and up until last month I was going to but thabnks to DD getting in and out she has managed to put a little more wear and tear in it then I would have liked.. so it is probably no longer safe for a baby to go in..
Plus we want to downsize everything in our house in readiness for our renovations (which will eventually happen) Might get Dh to quietly take it away one day
I can totally understand this sadness. I am determined to keep our cot even though my baby days are over. I just love it. It's a beautiful piece of furniture (pictured here).... unusual as it it made of turned wood and is white. I have visions of laying my grandchildren down to sleep in it. I can't bear to put in under the house... too dirty here... it's safely up in my wardrobe for the time being.
