Hi everyone well its been a few months since my last post as i have been so busy.
I have a few questions i hope someone can help me with??????
DS is 5 months old and is huge. He put on 7 cm in length in 2 months and is puting on 200grams in a week at the moment, and i havnt started too many solids yet. I have a 7 year old and at 5 months he was a whole KG lighter than my little son, he is massive. and he hurts my back to carry him around already as my back has started to ache from where the epidural needle went in. Im about to get a referal to go back to the paedetrician to ask him some things but thought someone might be able to help......
1. DS has never really slept through the night he is always looking for his bottle (karicare gold formulae) he takes a lot each feed, and i cant seem to get him to sleep through.
he goes to sleep at 7.30pm wakes at 12am (DP does this feed) and then 2.30am and then i have been bringing into bed with me as he is restless then from 2.30am till 6am.( i never had DS1 in bed with me when he was little)
Im used to it now but my first DS slept through tat 8 weeks old.
2. he is a very windy baby throws himself around in his sleep and kicks like mad. thats why he is restless i think. the other night i actually in my sleep held his feet up to make him comfortable, and that was after i got 2 burbs up. so maybe he might have a bit of colic? should i change his formulae? my DS1 had karicare gold till he was 1 so i really like it but not sure if its right for DS2. we tried donnalix drops i the beginning and now we are using infants friend drops. mainly in the afternoon ready for the night, we give a 4pm dose and a 7 pm dose.
3. pretty much every sleep i control cry him its like he needs a good cry to tire him out just that little bit more to get to sleep.
4. i have started him on one solid meal a day just to try and fill him a little more he is have 2-3 sleeps a day his 9am sleep is usually for 2 hours and his other 2 are 45 mins.
the days are usually pretty good. witching hour is 5pm to 6pm. as he knows bedtime is coming and he wants to stay up with DS1. he is very alert and follows DS1 everywhere with his eyes.
so what do you think? im going to go and get advice and check everything is ok but though someone might be able to help me before hand. i really had none of this with DS1. the stiffness and irratiablity is worrying me i think hes getting his first tooth aswell.
thanks for listening.
luv TG

It sounds like your having a really hard time at the moment
How much does he weigh? I would think that you don't have to worry about him putting on too much weight, only losing it. How much milk does he have? You said he has alot, could that be why he is restless, could he have a tummy ache?
Did you take him for his 6 month check up and discuss any of it then? When DD2 was 5 months I started offering her water in the middle of the night instead of milk, after a few attempts and disgusted looks she soon gave up and realised she wasen't getting any milk at night time. She still wakes occasionally but just for dummy and a head stroke and back to sleep.
hay, im going ok i probably sound worse than what i really am.
he has just turned 5 months old and at 4 1/2 months he was 8.35kg! he is in proportion as he is very long not too chubby. he is in 0 clothes already everything i brought he couldnt wear. GP said he was very healthy. maybe i should try the water thing of a night and it might also get rid of his wind. maybe at the 12am feed he can have his milk bottle but after that he can have his water...little horror.
sounds like a plan for tonight. just seems to be a problem of a night. during the day he is fine. thanks
yep has a dummy that he has all the time and yep has a shower with me around witching hour to tire him out that bit more. i think he is just a PLAYER!!!!! already having DS1 im sorta clued up but this little one has thrown me for a 6.
