If I were in your position, I wouldn't want to put any bandage, bandaid or dressing on it at this stage unless the hospital recommended it. Just follow the care instructions that they gave you - the most important thing for your DD at the moment is to avoid infection and speed initial healing. So no I wouldn't use a band aid and wouldn't put any extra lotions on it until the wound has initially healed.
