DS standing up in his cot when he's trying to settle

So, DS is at that stage where he's standing himself up in his cot when he's trying to go to sleep. He normally self-settles pretty well. Will this pass? I'm sure it will, but in how long lol!! How did you help them to settle in the meantime? DS isn't a big fan of cuddles when he's tired, just keeps throwing himself back out of my arms.

DS1 used to do this too. From memory it didn't last too long. When he learned how to sit down from standing up by himself, he just played until he was tired enough, lie down and go to sleep. Until then I just went in every time he got frustrated standing up and put him back down. During the day I made sure I helped him practise sitting down from standing up. HTH
