Need to find a new word for...

DD is learning to talk and the other day I am sure that I heard her say "sex" after DH and I had been talking about it...not something that I want to hear my 16 month old say.

I told him that we need to find a new word for it because DD had said it. He just cracked up laughing. It was funny, but I still don't want her saying it, especially outside of home.

What word(s) do you use to talk about sex when you're little one's are in earshot?

We more just hint our way around it, lol. We don't use any sort of words the kids might pick up on.
Its uasually something like 'am I gonna get some tonight?' or 'a bit' lol. 'it'...

hmm interesting, cos I just say sex.

Just like I say the proper words for everything.

Once I said f**k and Chase said F**K F**K F**K F**K and I started saying "where's the truck?" and he stopped. Maybe when she says something you don't want her repeating, confuse her lol
she says sex, you say "six what??"

We just talk around it and out of ear shot. If you think you have to be careful infron of a toddler then wait until you have a teenager who protests loudly (due to embarrassment) about hearing anything inimtate between DH and I. Maybe I shouldn't care but my own mother shoved her sexuality down my throat and didn't care what I heard so because I don't want my teen feeling awkward I just keep it out of earshot... not that hard to do.

Thankfully I don't have to worry about this with brendan's delays!

I do like Mel's idea though!

When she's old enough to explain when words should only be used at certain times then I don't think I'll mind so much about what we say (to an extent), but she's 16 months old and not ready for explinations about only using certain words at certain times...It was hard enough explaining to my (then) 4 year old niece where babies come from and how they get inside when I was pregnant with DD...

You can make a word like washing or laundry your code word.

    For instance:

I'd really like to do some laundry tonight.

It's been so long since we've done the laundry.

John & Mandy had their son walk in while they were doing the laundry.

Of course it's always best to have such convos out of earshot, but if you are going to have them use a code word.
