I knew it was going to happen, I could see it progressing to this. Recently, DD started putting her fingers down her throat. At first she would do it and then cough, then after a few days of that she would do it until she gagged, and tonight she actually made herself vomit. I'm quite disturbed!

I've read that some toddlers make themselves vomit when they're upset as part of their tantrum throwing. This wasn't what DD was doing (at this point I think she's just experimenting) but I'm worried she's going to get into the habit of it, or realize that it's problematic for me and do it on purpose when she's upset (as she gets older). When she does it I take her fingers out of her mouth and try to distract her but it doesn't always work.

. . . Meeep. What should I do? Is this normal? How can I stop it?
