My mum is doing one for Kameron but I have kept things here like his first haircut hair, his belly button clip, name tags from hospital, u/sounds, the newspaper the day he was born.
Mum is doing a box for Kameron and she had a whole set of 2001 coins until her house was house sat by the daughter of a friend and they are now missing. She also has the medallion that was issued when Don Bradman died cause it happened in 2001 a 45c stamp and other little odds and sods.

I'm pathetically sentimental with Ashy, and have her baby book with the usual ultrasound pic, first haircut curls, hospital tags etc. I have another book for all her arrival, birthday christmas cards etc, and another album where i have a fatty photo of me each month of my pregnancy and then a photo, gold hand and foot print and her weight and heigh for each month until she was one.
I was given two time capsuals, but because most of her things are in her baby book, i've put her belly button clip in one and in the other I write her letters to give to her when she's older, just about what she does, what makes me smile and laugh, silly stories about her, and how much I love her.
Yes I have a memory box for both of mine
They are both full up with ultrasounds, ante natal cards, hospital cards, hospital bands, belly button clips. My 1st born had complications and I forgot to get him a newspaper due to the chaos. My 2nd son has a newspaper
I have all their birthday candles, cards, plates, cups from birthday parties. All the Santa letters since they were born. There are so many things in there. I love going through the boxes
I just started a diary for them when I write acheivements, milestones etc. I just wish I'd thought to start it when they were both born
Hi Lisa
Re the newspaper for your 1st born, can you go into where they print your newspaper and order a copy of it from that day. Our Advertiser allows us to do that. It does cost but can't remember how much, but very handy in case you have forgotten.

Oh I didn't even think of that. It a major newspaper in Sydney. The Daily Telegraph. So being a big paper hopefully I can
Thanks a lot. I'm going to check out the site now![]()
A great idea to start for your baby - the trouble is I have too much stuff to put in her box - I guess I'm going to have to cull it a bit and sort out what really is important for her when she is old enough to understand.
Scrapbooking is a great idea too - I am going to start scrapbooking very soon as there are sooooo many photos of Paige now.
I also have most of the stuff to go in the box, but no box!! 8-[
I am also planning to get some scrapbooking done as well, just need to collect more supplies.
I have a time capsule cylinder and a memory box. Contents so far are:
-First photo
-Newspaper birth announcement
-Front page of newspaper from day of birth
-Hospital tag
-Birth story from mum and dad's point of view
-Hand and foot prints from 1 month old
-Commemorative birth certificate
-Hight and weight chart
I have lots of bits & pieces so far - newspapers, belly button clip, hospital tags, cards - but no box yet!!
i have kept all of the interesting things to do with eliana & keep adding to it
i am also going to put some special things like handprint, first haircut, dummy, shoe etc in one of those display frames
I have kept a box that one of my baby shower presents was in and have put all the cards, birth notices in the paper (my sister laminated the one she put in), hospital cards and any other mementos that I could think of. I also want to do a scrap book for Gabby.
I have to go out and buy a good baby photo album. My Mum did fantastic albums for my sisters and I. She had our first few teeth, locks of hair, hospital tags, tonnes of photos, family tree, birth certificate etc. etc. all in our baby album. I want to do a similar thing. Mum was also padantic about writing dates and names on the back of photos (something I wish more people would do!).
As well as a baby book and a baby album from when I was little, I also have a time capsule type box that my mum saved.. In it is things like.. my going home outfit, my fave party dress, my fave small cuddly toy, first shoes... etc etc etc...
Hopefully ill be organised enough to do it with my children.. (hehe one part will be easy, any girls will wear the same going home outfit i did.. if i end up in hosp coz of a prob.. or theyll wear it their first trip out of the house if i birth at home)..
A newspaper (or newspaper cover) of the day they were born is a good idea! (as well as their birth announcements etc) You could also include any birthday msgs put in the newspaper through their childhood...

This is so important in our situation. We need to keep every little record and photo we can for Andrei, and also collect momentos of his culture (cambodian/vietnamese).
I'm also a scrapbooker, so i will make him a lifebook, with important events in his life detailed in photos.
I've decided to scrap the time capsule cylinder and just have the memory box for Lily. I have added more stuff to it. The contencts now including...
-Photos of her first month, plus some others which are my favs.
-Front page of newspaper from day of birth
-Birth story from mum and dad's point of view
-Hand print from 1 month old
-Commemorative birth certificate
-Hight and weight chart
-Newborn nappy(so she can see how small she was)
-First dummy
-Photo albam
-Coins from the year she was born(all very shiney!)
-Bondsuit she came home in from the hossy
-Cards from birth
-A cute outfit that i loved on her
-Birth certificate holder made from peuter, with a copy of her birth certificate
-Baby book(birth to 5yrs) which has the newspaper birth announcement, her hossy bracelet in it.
-A book of firsts
-A small balloon from one of the gifts she got a birth saying 'its a girl'
Over the years i will be putting in...
-Birthday cards to 5yrs
-First tooth and first curl in those round keepsake trinkets
-Naming day cards
-Fav drawings from pre-school
-First shoes
-Fav toy(which seems to be her train and teddy rattle)
-A video or two of her(once we get a video recorder)
And probably a few other things.
The one thing i wont be able to put in it is her bellybutton clip. I forget about it and left it at the hossy, dammit!
Deb, my mum wrote dates on the back of photos too. Im so glad she did coz i always ask how old was i in this photo etc. In Lily's albam theres a space for writing next to photos and i write how old she was in them.
BTW ragged_blossom I absolutely LOVE your new avatar. Very gorgeous!
