    Question Milk or thrush

    Iz has white spots on tongue/lipz... but i am unsure if this is just milk or thrush... how do you tell the differences??? on fri my CHN said it was milk... but it dosntseem to go away

    Have a look on the inside of her cheeks... if there are white spots there take her to the chemist and show them and they will be able to give you some oral thrush treatment

    I'm sure there are people who know more about it than me, but isn't there a certain amount of the candida critters naturally occuring in our bodies and it's only when they grow to high levels that we become symptomatic? I think they really like warm, moist environments... like mouths or milky nipples.

    I was told that baby tongues can look white and milky because they don't have much saliva to clean it off in the early days. If there are white patches on Izzy's cheeks and gums that you can't wipe off, get it checked out.

    No worries, Cass. I hope everything's ok. Natty's white tongue turned out to be just milky, so I don't have first-hand experience with oral thrush. (Have had my fair share of the other variety tho - sorry TMI!!!) But if it is thrush, I hear it's not too much hassle to treat. All the best.
