    is it thrush or milk?

my dd is 2 1/2 months and we went to see the maternal health nurse today and she said that my dd has thrush as she saw the thick white coating on her mouth and suggested i use Nilstat? But i actually just fed her before we went to see her so could it be from the milk? Also just then i sort of coat a cloth and wiped a little bit on her tongue to see if anything came off, and yea its still a little bit white but not as much as before. So shoud still use the nilstat drops? has anyone used them before as on the instructions it says 1ml 4 times a day for children and adults, would that be still the same for infants? Also it says to not swallow straight away, but to swirl it around your mouth before swallowing, but my dd cant do that yet. Help! or maybe i dont need to use this-could it be just the coating of milk on her toungue?

If the whiteness is still there a while after she has fed, it probably is thrush. Probably best to see your GP if you are not sure about using the drops, and make sure you sterilise everything she puts in her mouth because it can spread - bottles/teats, dummies, etc. And wash your hands thoroughly before and after putting them near her mouth.
