is it viral of bacterial thats contagious? or both?

i have mums group tomorrow and one of the mums said her baby has a viral infection and cant remember if the Dr said it was contagious.. but she said she'll come anyway
i thought that one was contagious and one wasnt? or was i misinformed?

Was thinking id find out from a reliable source first and if he is contagious i might have to ask her to give it a miss this week, we dont want all the babies catching it...

i know some people dont think, she said she's got him on abs but i dont wanna risk it, i just sent her a message saying "ive done some reading and viral infections are quite contagious"
she just said " i know but he's on abs and is getting better..."
still not owrth risking it i rekon lol

if hes on AB's then its most likely not viral as AB's wont help, so maybe hes on them as a precaution or its bacterial, ask her exactly whats wrong, is he coughing etc..
