Just curious as to what ages peoples have taken their little ones from the cot and into the big bed?
We took Briley out when she was about 12-13 months because she seemed "ready". But I'm not sure that Colby is ready. There is no rush but I just wondered.
I think i might break the record here, LOL ... as my DD actually co-slept (hardly ever in the cot which we were fine with) with DP & i until she was 2.5years old
The transaction was easy for her to her bed in her sweet room, she loved the idea ... BUT she awakes about 1 to 3am nearly every night crying & ends up in our bed
DS was about the 18 month mark maybe earlier as we needed the cot for#2
DD is 22 months and still in the cot no signs yet of being ready.. although we are lending out the cot to some one so i guess we have to do the move soon
How do I know if she is ready? lol
She goes to bed most nights really - says "bed" and practically throws herself into the cot nad lays down and goes to sleep...
But Im not sure that if she was in a bed she wouldnt get out again...not sure I will ever be confident of that!
But she really is getting too big for the cot - she can climb out of it if she really wants to! - so we had to drill more holes in it to lower it and extra mattress width...so now she cant climb out but she is tall so the cot really isnt cutting it anymore...
