Our DD's first bed arrives tomorrow, so she will be spending her first night in it and I wondered if anyone has any tips about how to make it a smooth transition. I am worried that she will fall out, and while we do have a rail for it, it doesn't go the full length of the bed and she moves around her cot A LOT!! (She will do 360's and 180's all night and sleeps in every corner of her cot possible).

i simply put the cot matress under the bed and pulled it out at night "soft landing" if they did fall out... i sat with them reading books, left the door ajar and they had their teddies with them also left a lamp on in their room.. they did get up a gazillion times but i just kept putting them back..didn't take long for it to click...
