    Question Prams

i have the valco runabout pram (and also a maclaren stroller for shopping centres and 'indoor' trips)... anyways, i am now thinking i really wish i had of bought a pram where the baby faces inwards to me, not outwards... when we go on walks in the valco i always find myself pearing around or trying to look threw the sunshade thingi to see what she is up to. After putting her in the capsule of the trolley when supermarket shopping it suddenly has dawned on me how much more fun walks would be if she was facing me, or at least if i have the option of her facing me.

I am wondering, does anyone know of any prams that are inward facing or reversible. I've had a look on ebay at the emmaljunga's but they just seem so expensive (i got my valco second hand). I'm hoping to pick up a good one second hand or buy one new as long as it doesn't cost the earth.

and another question, do you think it matters which brand of pram you use, quality wise? are the ones from target just as good as the high priced ones?

I brought a mothers choice one from Target for $150 down from $200 and it's great, haven't had a problem with it at all and you can have the handle either front facing or rear facing. Plus the hood has a little sun visor in it so I can open it and see what they were doing anyway if I needed too. I don't doubt that a lot of them are just as good a quality as the big name ones.

I originally bought a Steelcraft Florida pram and it was $379 7yrs ago now, not sure how much they would be now, but you could turn the basinette around on that too so they could face you or the front

most of the cheap brands do what your want. have a look around kmart, target and bigW. steelcraft prams are a great option. I actually need to sell a steelcraft one that was really good and has the option of both ways - but i live in canberra - maybe you should check out your local classifieds or ebay.

Hi Emma!! I know EXACTLY what you mean! I originally had a Peg Perego which we bought cos it folds like a stroller and the normal ones wouldn't fit in our boot. However, we got a new car so it didn't matter in the end... thing was I already had that pram and it didn't have the reversible handle and I HATED putting a blanket across the front of it to block out the sun on my walks and also not being able to see him. I had the same thing when I put him in a capsule of the trolley and he LOVED it. I got another pram from Toys R Us (has snoopy on it) for $180 down from $300 and we both LOVE it. I use whichever I feel like on the day, but use it ALWAYS for our walks. Easy to fold and isn't too heavy either.

well it seems i am not alone!! the 3 wheel jogger prams must be such a phase, I just can't stand the one I have at the moment... went walking today and as it was quite windy, the dam bunny rug kept blowing off and the sun was in her eyes, and i was constantly having to stop to put the rug back on etc, was a joke.

well i have managed to pick up an emmaljunga off ebay for $50. bargain! i might keep the jogger for when she is bigger and wants to face out, it IS a good pram and they don't seem to be fetching much on ebay so i may be better to hang on to it.

can't wait to pick up the new one, will be so much better.

(including the one that stays at my mums, i now seem to have four prams )
