Mummy, I just want to have a time-out.

DS got home from daycare today (FDC), I asked him how his day was and he said that Ella got to have a time-out and Mido got to have a time-out but he didn't AND then he went and sat on the floor with his back against the wall in the dining room and said "Mummy, Angus is just having a time out now" I know, I know I shouldn't laugh but it was so funny. Of course I went over and explained to him that time out was for when people do things they shouldn't. But he was happy, he just sat there for a while (about 3 minutes) and then got up and went on with playing with his engines.

It just goes to show the delicate balance between discipline and attention and what works for one child will be hopeless for another, and it all depend on how everyone feels at the time anyway.
