my 9 week old has slight temp what to do?

i have a 9 week old with 37.6 temp been like that since 6am, first feed. I am taking temp under arm is that half a deg diff than the real temp?? how long can babies go for with temp without medical check up

no rash or irritability or lethargic he seems fine just has temp

    should i be concerned?

i have stripped him back and wet flanell im not concerned on how to treat the temp just rather at what point of the pro longness should i seek a dr and is the temp really lower than real temp when taken under arm?

I'd probably give him some panadol to try to get it down a bit. It's not a high temp which is good. With temps they usually run in a cycle where they go up and down. When Oskar has one I write down the time, temp and then what times I've given him panadol so I don't get confused and also then if I do need to take him to the doc I can show him what's been going on. I would keep an eye on him as you've been doing and if you do get worried take him to doc/hospital as he is only little. Also, he may want to feed more - not sure if you're BF or not, I'm not sure if it's formula if you need to water it down a little to help with any thirst??

    Great advice...

I saw your ticker and noticed your BF... I would pop him on more often to keep up the fluids.... just to avoid dehydration. if at all you get worried a trip to the GP or hossy may help settle your conscience... With babies they usually take them in fairly quickly...

    Panadol and monitoring...

Whenever I took DD to the dr, I would get asked 3 questions? 1- Does she have a temp? 2- Has she lost her appetite? 3- Is she lethargic? Then I was told, with 1 of the 3 to monitor, with 2 take her to GP or hospital, or with all, call an ambulance..

If he only has a temp, I would be inclined to offer the breast more, and monitor him. Also a cooler (think the word is tepid??) bath wouldn't go astray.

Hope he gets over it and is nothing to worry about.

Good to hear that he is ok. I hope that the murmur turns out to be nothing. I'm not sure but have heard that this can occur in babies and be nothing later??
