Unhappy My poor little bubba :(

    Miss M is constipated. Badly.

She was squealing before when trying to do a poo - it nearly broke my heart she was squealing in pain like that

I helped her get the offending poo out - it was huge - and hard like a rock. And there was a bit of blood on it

I've boiled some prunes and put some of the juice in some boiled water - does anyone know how long that takes to start working?

Oh the poor thing . I remember DS1 used to get terribly constipated as a baby and would scream in agony when he tried to poo, it was so distressing.

I never tried the prune juice so I have no idea how long it will take to work, hopefully very soon! I used to give DS1 Coloxyl drops that worked pretty well, but took about 24 hours to take affect.

I hope she feels better soon.

Prune juice should take anywhere from 2-24hrs, depends on the concentration and how sensitive she is to it.

I hope she feels better soon...
I'll take half the constipation and give you half of MJ's runns (she has gastro) and hopefully they can pass normal poo's bewteen them

Hope it works quickly for her

Thanks guys - she passed some liquid just before (poor DH - she got it on the thomas couch cover that he only just put back on it this morning from washing it from when DS did a wee on it!) so I would say that she is quite sensitive to prune juice - think it was about 10 minutes!! She still screamed in pain though, so I think its a little sensitive down there - poor little thing!!!

Trish - its horrible to hear them isn't it..

SJ - Yup I'll be in that - gastro would sound heavenly at the moment...

    TL - thanks babe *mwah*

Sometimes if they go from having very hard poos to having liquid, they are still constipated. The hard poo is still stuck in their intestines & all that can pass through is the liquid (because it can go past the hard poo that is stuck). See how she goes - I guess I'd be looking for volume of poo to make sure that the hard bits have softened and passed through as well.

Poor Jas was like that last night.....she was screaming and shaking it hurt so bad coming out...and it was like a huge boulder (sp) when it came out. My problem is she hates drinking anything but formula so i do leg exercises with her to help move things along.

If it comes to it, you can buy Coloxyl drops for kids that help!

Yeah I've heard about those drops..
Hopefully she will be ok (bit worried about the blood that came out with the rock though)

Dunno holly - maybe? She's already on homeopathic drops for her silent reflux so I don't really want to give her any other drops which are mainly for wind issues.

She is still sleeping so at least she doesn't appear to be overly unsettled.

The blood could be from the hard bit , maybe it torn the skin around the opening, just a thought.

    Hope she gets better soon.
