OK.. granted I probably have PMS today and my buttons are more easily pushed.. but OMG.. I have had it up to HERE with my 3yr old. Doesn't matter what I ask, how I ask it... he just won't do anything I ask!! I ask him to go to the toilet, he hasn't been for aaaaages and is dancing a jig, but nope won't go. eventually takes himself, after he's already started to wet his pants.. he doesn't do a full wee in his pants.. but they are still wet. ARGH. I ask him to keep all the playing cards together and not scatter them across the floor..as we're picking them up... and of course he does it again.. so.. cards are now on top of the fridge. I ask him to stop throwing blocks across the room... ignored. I ask him to stop kicking the toys around the floor.. ignored. I can count to 3, I can offer to help.. argh... nothing works. His usual excuse for not picking something up is that he can't.. it's too heavy. OMG.. nothing irritates me more than him saying that.

I almost beg & plead with him to be nice to his sister, but the poor girl only has to walk past him and she gets told to "go away" and gets hit. Every time he walks past her he elbows her and knocks her down. Then he gets on top of her and squashes her.

I try and encourage them to take turns with something.. trying to encourage sharing.. very very rarely will he actually do it, and yes I praise him if he actually does it.. altho just now I called him over to me for a second.. with the intention of smothering him with hugs & kisses for sharing a toy with Kayla.. and all he was worried about was her getting hold of the toy, and he put up a fight just trying to get him to come over to me. It's just ridiculous. As soon as DD gets hold of something, he decides he has to have it and snatches it off her and hits her if she tries to get it back.

I started off the day with zero tolerance, and found myself almost lecturing the poor thing on playing nice with his sister. then later I decided to change tack and gave him a definition of what playing nice means.. that he shares toys and talks nicely. So I tried doing gentle reminders of this for a while... pfft.. why bother.. seriously.

He is just sooo defiant, and doesn't listen to a thing I say HELP!!! I'm ready to lock him in his room and throw away the key! He also tells us to 'go away' and spits at us.. which I decided to go hardline on the last few days too.. coz ignoring it certainly didn't work.. and he does it in front of other people too..

waaaaaa... someone give me a time machine so I can just skip the next year or so!!
