    Question need urgent answer please!

Hello, I just changed Ds' nappy and there are black pieces in his poo!

He is mainly breastfed, has one formula bottle at night, eats pears with banana for breakfast, and pumpkin at dinner.

Ive never seen anything like it!

basically most of the poo is black

what have you been eating? Darker poos are usually caused by increased iron levels (sometime licorice if you eat that).

I find that Oscar's poos are darker if I have eaten red meat.... don't know if that helps?!?

Maybe call the MCHN helpline?!? If u don't have the number pm me and I will give it to you.

D, could he have picked something up and eaten it without you seeing it happen?
I think poo can be so many surprising colours. Today I cleaned up a (sick baby) poo that was chockers full of seeds, even though she'd only eaten 1/6 of a piece of grain toast - there is NO WAY she could've ingested that many seeds... But there they were.
If he seems happy and not bothered by it, I wouldn't worry...

Danni, I'm pretty sure color doesn't matter at all. I wouldn't worry. I have seen poos in lots of colours in the last 2 1/2 years LOL!!

Yep I would say the banana Danni. Anything with alot of Iron can make poos black too I think. ( hence the red meat etc)

Some formulas also makes poos dark dark green/black because of the ingredients.

Yep, I'd agree. As long as he is well and there are no signs anything else is amiss, I'd put my money on the banana.
