New toys needed for my 18mth old DD for OS holiday

We are going to Singapore in 3 weeks and I'm going to get some new toys for DD to keep her busy on the plane and in our hotel room.

Anyone got some good suggestions on what to get? We have a mini etcher sketched, crayons, plenty of books (including the mini library ones), a handbag filled with toy girly stuff and stacking cups. They are the usual toys I take traveling with us and I plan on putting them aside for the week before we leave so they are exciting again but some new toys would be good.

    Thanks!

That sounds like more than enough for the plane. I think that only 3 or 4 crayons is best because they always drop one and then they roll a mile - ask the hosty for a cup to put them in while she uses them and only let her have one at a time. Don't forget that they usually give you a little entertainment pack for children and that they have seat-back TVs to keep them busy.
If you want new toys why not buy them over there?

I agree with Onxy. I used to take a lot. Now i realise less is better for all of us! I take one or two things each for the girls now. At the airport (or toy stores) you can buy those books that have a 'magic marker' It's clear, so no mess and as they draw on the page the color magically appears. I love them as there is only one pen for every color and no drawing on things!
My DD's love a sticker book.
Other things we do is make puppets out of the spew bags, play eye-spy with the dutyfree shopping mag and inflight mag. (But 'eye-spy something green', not 'beginning with' iykwim?) The kids love to put the headphones on and have a dance to the music.

What you have sounds like heaps.

Thanks girls! Well that makes my life easier, I'll just stash her current toys and they will magically reappear come holiday time

JM - LMAO at your comment about making puppets out of the spew bags. I'm assuming you mean the 'empty' ones That is a great idea but I did have a good chuckle when I read it! I love the sound of the magic marker books. I'm heading out today so I'll see if I can buy one but do they normally have them at airports too?

Onyx - buying some toys over there, awesome idea. That will keep us both entertained while doing some 'necessary' (read 'while in Rome') shopping

Yes the empty ones! I have seen those books in Toyworld, Toys are us, Brisbane airport, Cairns Airport and Melbourne Airport. They are usually hanging up on a turnstile type display... They are licensed products, you know Dora, Diego, Disney princess' and things.
