    night 4 was horrible...help???

ok my beautiful new baby is only 4 days old so im not expecting too much but just after a bit of addvice.
yesterday Milly slept in the family room in her bassinette...she slept for between 1-3 hours at a time.
    She is FF
Come time for bed we moved bassinette back into our room and thats where the fun began...she wouldnt settle in her bed, so i tried patting her, holding her, and rocking her she would settle id put her into bed then as soon as i got in she would wake.
A few times i took her into the lounge trying to settle her but as soon as i put her down she would wake again.
I ended up sleeping with her in bed with us...this isnt for me i dont sleep properly and my body is still to sore to be laying still with her, but at least we got some sleep so im ready to tackle today.

Is the problem that i put her bassinette in the family room? should she be in our room all the time when asleep?
OH and she is having a BIG problem bringing up wind? should i be trying something like infants friend or something??
Hmmm I feel as my third bub i shouldnt be having these issuse

Sounds like she just wants to be close to you. Mayb wrap her a little tighter or put something in the bassinet that has your smell on it. At 4 days old.. no i wouldnt give her infants friend or anything for that matter. She is still brand new so you might find it will cause more problems than good. Also being FF at 4 days old is probably giving her a little tummy ache, so she wants her mummy right now.

I always found days 3-5 were the worst. I hope bub settles down again for you

I always kept my bubs in the lounge with me until I went to bed. Only my DD wouldn't sleep well so she went to her bed in the bedroom in the early evening.. if it noise she is after try a womb sounds thingy. I bought off ebay when DD was born for under $10 (inc post) It has a little light that comes on with bubs sounds and the womb/heart sounds as well..

I agree, day 3 and night 4 in particular were the worst for me, with both boys.

In the end I moved DH in to the spare room for the week (deep sleepers, sleep apnoea and co sleeping dont mix well) and co slept with DS2 for about a week, and after that it settled down a little. Mind you we were still up and down a lot but nothing like days 3-5.

As for the problem, there might not be one. Different settling techniques might work one time and not the next. DS2 would sleep between every feed one day, and be really hard to settle the next. If she has wind that wont make it easier.

Not sure about infants friend, I havent used it. Holding her upright against your body (or in an upright sling) might help?
Of if you are FF maybe there is a different teat you could use.
