    lets talk about POO!

so I just changed DD's nappy, and OMG!! was the grossest poo I have ever seen! It was mucous! there was so much of it i had to rinse the nappy off in the loo before putting it in the nappy bucket. it was normal colour, although there was a little bit of dark green streak.
everything I have read says dairy = evil! which im doubting, cause if i havent changed my diet at all why would she all of a sudden have a mucous nappy if it was dairy related..wouldnt she have it more often? she does have a little blocked nose, nothing major, but maybe if she swollowed a bit of snot and drool would that cause it? she isn't bothered by it at all, isnt distressed or anything, if anything the opposite.

it was just so gross and far from any poos she has ever done before...

A few things can do that. In the early days its pretty common to have green frothy poo's if they get more fore milk than hind milk. If she's just had a growth spurt, maybe there is a little more milk than usual & thats what is happening. My DS's nappies were like that from about 4 - 12 weeks old.

Could be the mucous she's swallowing too. Couldn't tell you, because mine used to vomit it back up before it got to the nappy.

it's most likely because she's a bit unwell.

Yes, snot and drool can do weird things to poop when it eventually passes through. She may also have a little bit of an upset tummy if she's not feeling well. Try not to worry about it too much, it'll settle down again soon enough.
