Have been struggling a bit getting DD to sleep (both for day & night sleeps) for at least the last week or two. She was going down without a fuss, I'd put her in her cot and that was it. Last week I visited my parents for a few days and it took forever for her to go to sleep there, I ended up just laying on my bed in the spare room as she was in the porta cot in the same room and staying there until she had gone to sleep.
Now that we are back home, I don't know if it's just from being away or if she has me figured out...she is still taking forever to go to sleep, but I've had to go in at least 5 times to give her a drink of water. I'll lay her down like normal but within a minute she will be standing up, then starts whinging and finally crying until I go in, where she points and makes her "I want that" noise at her sippy cup and then have a big drink before I start all over again.
It has been quite warm lately, but inside the house is fairly cool (like there is aircon on but we rarely have it on). She won't drink a lot of water before about 11am and has it freely available to her all day so it's not like she is dehydrated when she goes to bed. I just don't know if she is genuinely thirsty (and don't want to not give her the water) because it seems quite excessive having to go in 4, 5, 6 times before she will eventually go to sleep.
I've tried leaving her sippy cup in the cot with her so she can get it herself but that didn't work either.
