I think two factors - is she likely to sleep through, and more importantly, is she teethy/rashy lately?
As in, my boys sleep through and their poop is toxic atm, so as much as it'd break my heart I'd wake them - BUT they'd go back to sleep easily. Probably I'd think differently if I had a tricky sleeper and the poop was pretty harmless.
She's a fantastic sleeper and she's not teethy/rashy. I know she'll sleep regardless of whether I change her or not but it seems rude to wake her up when it's obviously not bothering her. Even though I feel like a deadbeat mum for leaving her in a dirty nappy.
If she'll sleep anyway, then it's not really rude, you're like room service. Maybe chuck a mat under her and do the change in bed if that would work? Then she stays warm.
I'd change her. Even if it doesn't wake her through the night, she could still wake up really red & sore in the morning. If you reckon she'd get back to sleep just change her.
Plus... I sleep next to my DD.. so i wouldn't want her pooey bum next to ME! hehehe
LOL how funny is it that I was going to pose this question to other BBers myself after wondering during the night whether it was worth waking DD2 properly or leaving her sit in a dirty nappy for just a few more hours so I could sleep properly??
DD1 always hollered like mad when she was wet/dirty, so I never had the option, but DD2 seems quite unaware of having a full nappy and will happily snooze despite being dirty... so yes, there are times when I leave her go until the next feed, but for the most part I'll drag myself up and change her in bed so she stays warm. We're bed-sharing so she usually goes back to sleep, but sometimes it wakes her up and she wants another feed and when my nipples are too sore from cluster-feeding, I will let her sleep to give myself time to recover. But then, it's a fine line, as she's at that age where she will do a really big poo/wee and it goes up the back of her nappy and through her clothes, so I have to decide whether it's worth waking up in a piddle-puddle and having to change the sheets!
Sorry that doesn't help much... I suppose there are a lot of factors at play But I for one don't think you'd be a bad mum if you let them sleep for a few hours if they don't seem upset by a dirty nappy - I don't do it often and I always feel bad about doing it, but sometimes I just need to let her sleep for my own sake, selfish as that is!
