A Q about b/f baby poo

My DS is exclusively b/fed and his poos have never smelt what I would call 'bad'. But today they have a bad smell, not the way they usually smell at all. The poos are still the same colour and consistency, just smell bad. Could it have been something I ate that is affecting my milk and his poos? Also, not sure if this is related, but he's been more unsettled today than usual.

Any ideas?

Could be something you ate, could just be an 'off' day for him.

Poos are different between bub to bub and day to day and not the most reliable indicator of something going on. If you feel he is otherwise happy and alert and is having plenty of wet and dirty nappies I would say hold your nose and wait until tomorrow!

PS Wait until he starts eating food and you'll be wishing for his 'smelly' bf poos!

Perhaps he has picked up a tummy bug from someone. Has he had the rotovirus vaccine lately?

He had the rotavirus vaccine at 6 weeks. He seems pretty fine otherwise, just a little cranky but not too bad. Good appetite, plenty of wet and dirty nappies.

It's more than likely something you ate, especially if the consistency was normal. Don't worry too much about it and I hope they go back to being more pleasant!
