    Nestle Toddler milk...

    Hi!

I received a sample of this a week or so ago...I tried it on Louis just because I had it and he proceeded to spit the whole mouthful out (after being used to having a cup of cows milk before bed)
My dh started to tell him off but I thought I'd try it first - it's horrible!!! I don't blame the poor thing for spitting it out...
I checked out the ingredients and the second or third ingredient is sugar!! It also have vanilla flavour...it's sugar content is quite bit higher cows milk...

Anyway, it got me thinking how they can market this as being so good for kids?? I think if you're worried about the kids lacking vitamins a multivitamin would be a better option..

Anyway...just my opinion I'm throwing out there...

I dont understand why normal cows milk, or even semi skim milk isnt good enuf? It was when i was a child.
Isnt it the big wigs trying to squeeze more $$ out of us for a product that isnt really necessary???

Yep! I'm sure of it! I think they want mums to feel guilty that kids aren't getting enough vitamins either...
Everyones worrying about obesity and diabetes etc and it's loaded with sugar??? Also I don't know if people give it in bottles before bed but with all that sugar it can't be great for teeth either!!

I hate toddler milks, I think they are rubbish. I think its a gimick... coke for kids with "added vitamins".

I hate the advertising too, the latest pet hate is the heinz one where there's a "paediatritian" talking about how omega 3 is good blah blah, then it switches to a mum recommending heinz toddler milk, its an advertising trick to try and get your brain to think that its the paed recommending it. Dirty advertising IMO! Dirty product too...

Can you tell I don't like it LMAO! I'd rather give my kids chewable vitamins along with fresh fruit juice and or milk to drink!

I honestly think that they (being the manufacturers) all think we are gullible fools who will just buy it because they say it is what we should be giving them next - you only have to take a look at the label and realise that it is akin to giving them soft drink in a way - for all the sugar it has in it.

*snap* Cai, great minds think alike LOL

Got to admit the ads are good though. Even KNOWING that the product is bad for kids I still saw an ad once when I was really tired and caught myself thinking for a split second - ooh, maybe Jack should be having that. Luckily I quickly snapped back to reality!

Makes me glad i don't watch tv!

DD has had cows milk from 12 months and she is in perfect health. SHe has a diet rich in fruits and veggies and to be honest i balk at giving her natural fruit juice too often so i can't see me giving her this cr*p! I give her her cup of milk in the bath (she's learning how to drink from a lidless cup and is like little cleopatra in her bath of spilled milk ) and then brush her teeth but i still worry abut cavities!

OMG I can't believe they are loaded with sugar!! I have never considered buying them anyway, but that is just crazy! I'm disgusted that they are allowed to market them the way they do..

They taste totally nasty! I tried at a parenting expo when they were giving out samples.
I'd rather give mine a glass of milk with a spoonful of aktavite in it. They love it!

I just don't believe that it's needed and when they use words like "unlocking your childs potential" or along those lines makes me think that they are trying to brainwash you into thinking it will make your child some kind of prodigy.

LOL Cailin, by "good" I really meant clever - I should be more clear. I actually detest the ads too. I'm sure I've posted about them before.
