Has he had a runny nose? If so then it may just be mucus runny down the back of his throat. I now with my boys when they are sick as babies that their poos get smelly and mucusy as well. HTH.

Hi
Sorry about the details
My DS was pooing between 7 to 10 times a day when b/f and since being on formula it has cut down to 1 to 3 times a day, which i know is fine.
But today DS has pooed about 6 times already and they are quite smelly and i noticed that they have had mucousy stuff in it, a bit like thickish phlegm (sorry)
Is this something i should be concerned about or could it just be his body getting used to the change in milk, he has only been off the breast for 7 days.
TIA
Jessikah

Formula fed babies poo smells much more that breastfed babies. The mucous could also be caused by the change in diet. If the mucous does not clear up in a few days then it may be a good idea to get it checked
Thankyou Amanda and Alan
DS has not had a runny nose. I will keep an eye on things, if there's no change in a few days then i will take him to see the doctor.
