Should we get rid of dummy when move to big bed??

Just wanted some opinions/experiences on when might be a good time to try to end the dummy. DS is 2 and a half and uses it for sleeptimes only. We are soon to move him from his cot to a bed and I am guessing the transition will go well as he happily sleeps in one at his cousins house. So, I was thinking of selling him the idea of big boys in big beds don't need dummies. Do you think this is a good idea OR do you think that's too many changes at once??

While I can see advantages both ways, I think I personally wouldn't do it all at once as it could be a bit too much at one time. But that's probably more about me and how I like to handle life than anything else!!!

It could be too much at once. I've had 2 transition to the bed easily but my oldest howled the house down. If I'd taken his dummy away at the same time I'd never have gotten him settled the first few nights.
