    Question Silly Shape-O Question

DH and I were playing with the Shape-O today with DS and naming the shapes... But there are a few we don't know! Apart from the obvious - circle, square, triangle, star, cross, pentagon, oval - what are the other ones called? There are only 10.

    Can anyone list them?

I think: quadrant (quarter of a circle)
    hexagon (6 sides)
trapezoid (4 sides but only two are parallel)

At school, we teach this shape as a "trapezium" - but it could have other names?

Astrolady is right, but theres no diamond on a shape-o.
Its a trapezium that you are wondering about.

Wonder when that changed, as that is the first time I have ever heard of that term. Gee I must be getting old

I've been telling Daniel it's a "parallelogram". I think I'll leave it at that.

Wonky box is probably easier to say.

I looked up trapezium and trapezoid and have realised it is just a difference of where you live. US uses trapezoid and others use trapezium
