Question Smells - is this normal? (possibly TMI)

    Hi All,

I'm probably just being an over-worried 1st time mum but I'm not sure if this is normal.

DD is 14 mths old and in the last week I have noticed that her private parts have been smelly, like an adult woman's.

Do baby girls get smelly vaginal discharge like us sometimes, or should I be worried and take her to the doctor?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Jo

I would take her to the ocs as she may have an infection. Is there any discharge coming out?

    Thanks for your reply.
No discharge, and no change in appearance, just a different smell to normal, only subtle though.
I might try to book her in to the doc, just to be safe.

    Thanks again

often smelliness down there can be a sign of a bladder infection,

I would see the dr to get a urine bag and test in case.

    good luck

my daughter has had "that smell" for quite some time.... maybe around the same age as your little girl. Because of my experience I would say its normal but if you're worried ask a doctor.
    I hope that helps

    That's the one.
I wasn't too worried, as nothing else had changed.
Thanks for your reply, it does help.

I have changed a bunch of girls - both littlies in nappys and older accidents and have never noticed any child have the same odour of a woman - I would get the doctor to have a look just in case.
