SOY formula-anyone using or used it?

Hi everyone,
Just interested in who is using or has used soy formula and what their thoughts on it are? my ds 7 months has been on it for four months and is doing very well on it...after going through that many different formulas and still having a screaming baby with tummy pains this was the last resort...and well...we have not had one screaming episode since! problem is i have heard a bit of negative stuff about soy...which is why i want to hear from you guys as to how you went?

WE use Karicare soy here. Have done for the past few months, without any problems and bubs loves it.

Are you vegans?? If not have you tried the goats milk one?? My bub is fine on regular, but many find their sensitive bubs tummies are better on goats than cows. I haven't heard HEAPS but have been told that the biggest problem with the soy is the phyto-oestrogen levels that it has - seeing as high oestrogen levels in people can be carcinogenic (soy naturally is very high in oestrogen which is why women with hormonal issues are often told to avoid it). Having said that - it could just be hype - so check with a knowlegable MHCN or paed if you are worried as if it's working for you why change if there's no need. HTH.
