    Space Craft ideas...

DD1 wants to learn about the planets after seeing something on TV once.

So far I have thought of:

    Making a solar system mobile.
    Making a rocket ship.
Cooking some kind of space treat (don't know what!)
    A trip to the planetarium.

    Hit me with your ideas!

I saw an awesome picture on facebook of a rocket backpack made out of 2l juice bottles sprayed silver with crepe paper or leaves as flames coming out the bottom (if that makes any sense) ETA like this http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...g-NVy_Ou-sO_PO

star and moon shaped cookies would be nice

and my kids love the glow in the dark starts and moons that they stick all over their room

My DD1 is totally into the space thing too at the moment! You've seen our rocket ship and the helmet with bubble wrap, she is so cute riding around in it and pretends she can't breathe until she gets her helmet on lol.

Can you star gaze where you are by letting her say up a tiny bit later? We always check out the moon each night and its different shapes.

Ooo just had a good idea for something I will do with DD1 too... make a telescope then make discs to rotate through the front lens with black paper and glitter to make different space scenes, add planets and things too. Glitter is popular here so DD1 will love making space scenes! Flicking paint with toothbrushes works well for this kind of thing too and is pretty fun although messy haha.

Could also do craft activities around making constellations and things, like dot to dots.

I saw some Glow in the dark removable stickers on ebay the other week. They were a space theme. Could maybe put those on her bedroom roof and at night talk about different things she sees?
