OUr DD goes to bed from 6:30pm-7:30pm and is awake between 6am-7am
Being a parent has taught me many things, the biggest being....There is no such thing as NORMAL, Only normal for that child, at that time. Just when you think you've got it sorted, it changes.
Some kids from mothers group are up late and their parents get glorious sleep ins. We couldn't change bed time or waking time no matter what we do!
Ds who turned 2 last month, can go to bed anywhere from 9pm through to 4am. He is usually awake around 7am-8am, any later than 8.15am and I am usually waking him up to change him so we can take DD to school. On the weekends he might sleep till 8.30am, last weekend he did a 10am sleep in, but he still wakes 2-3 times a night...at least!
Well tonight as a one off 11pm! But she had a 3.5 hour nap today for some reason. Usually bed around 7 - 8pm up at 7am. She has been having longer naps with me recently, around 2 hours as opposed to the 40 minutes she used to have, so her bedtime has moved from around 7 to around 8 -9.
Bed is 10pm mostly...sometimes a bit earlier is he hasn't had a nap in the afternoon. We'll be up by 9.30-10 the next morning. Works for me as I am so not a morning person
Goodness, you ladies are getting some fabulous sleep ins!
DS goes to bed between 6pm and 7pm most nights and is up anytime between 5am and 6.30am (mind you anything after 6am is a rarity these days). I'm so sick of getting up at the crack of dawn (well before it actually), it doesn't matter if he goes down at 5.30pm or even as late as 8pm, he still wakes up way too early!
DS1 goes to bed between 2000 and 2030 generally and wakes between 0800 and 0900.
DS2 no pattern yet. (DS1 took till 11 months to sleep thru the night so not holding breath)
Nothing is normal and no one is right, its what works for you and your family!!
I have a friend whos DS goes to bed at 2330 same as her and wakes at 1100 works for them due to fact that she works till 2200 from 1300 when she does work.
DD usually goes to bed anywhere between 6-7pm, but as early as 5pm if she is unwell or hasn't had an arvo nap. She is up anywhere between 6-8am. She wakes once a night for a bottle too (on a normal non teething night)
DD2 is pretty good with bedtime, anywhere between 7 and 8 (usually about 7:30 depending on if we've eaten dinner yet), and sleeps through till about 8:30-9am if I let her.
DD1 is a total PITA though, if we don't MAKE her go to bed at a reasonable hour it's not uncommon for her to stay up until midnight - although she usually sleeps in the next morning if that's the case. If I put her to bed, it's usually around 9-9:30, about 10 she actually falls asleep, and will be up and about at 9am.
Mum2Romone - Or DSs were born on the same day . DS is usually in bed anywhere between 6 - 7:30 and willl usually be up somewhere between 6 and 7am. He also generally has a nap of between 1.5 and 3 hours in the afternoon.
All 3 of my kids go to bed between 7pm and 8pm (we aim to eat at 6pm and then it just depends how long it takes to eat, have baths, get dressed, read a story and tuck them in) and they all wake up anywhere from 7.15 to 8am. We are pretty lucky because DD2 started sleeping through about 2 months ago. DS only started sleeping through about 6 months ago so DD2 has been a lovely surprise with her sleeping.
DD goes to bed between 7.30 and 8pm. She wakes up twice during the night though, and will wake up anywhere between 6.30 and 8.30...often she sleeps later if she is in bed with me but will wake super early if she's still in her cot in the morning (very rare occurence lately though as I can't be bothered fighting to get her back in her own bed in the middle of the night!).
She only has one sleep a day, varies from between 40 mins to 2 hours!
