Take bubs outside to enjoy the storm with you....... Oh sorry that is the storm chaser in me.
My kids used to sleep through it when they were babies.

Put 'em back to sleep!
Although if Beth was distressed I would probably sit on the lounge room watching the storm with her. No reason to be scared and mumy loves a good thunderstorm...
Snap!
Toby's slept through all the ones we've had in the last few days - deafening thunder and all! But if he woke up he can come outside and watch it with me, DH and DD! We all love storms!
Seriously the quicker you can get kids out into storms, without putting them in harms way of course, the less likely they will have a fear of thunder when they are older.
My kids never had a fear of it, till our Kindy once said "thunderstorms are scary" I went to our kindy and had a go at the teacher that did it. It has taken a year and Kameron is just starting to loose the fear again, which is good cause I am desperate to get back onto the Storm Chasing road with kids in tow !!

Yep this is totally my feeling on it as well.
We've had some cracker storms in Brisbane over the last few days and DD is old enough now to know what's going on. We've made a huge deal of how "cool" the storm is and talking to her about how the rain gives the plants a drink etc and we've made a point of avoiding telling her "not to be scared" - because it hasn't really entered her head to be scared of it. I think this is one of those things where the idea gets put into their head - although I'm sure there are some kids this age who are genuinely frightened of the noise etc. as well.
