Question Toddler waking too early or have we just been spoiled?...

Since she was born Izzy would generally sleep through until at least 730- sometimes up to 9ish. She might wake at 5-6 for a feed early on, or up until recently we would give her a bottle and she would go right back to sleep -on average until 8ish. I would have to wake her up when I went to work.

In the last week or so she has been waking anywhere from 5-6 and won't go back to sleep. (Very occasionally she will drop off again until around 7ish) She was either drinking her bottle and still waking up or refusing it so we don't give it anymore. I change her nappy because I thought she might be cold, and give her a cuddle but she rarely goes back to sleep after she's woken.

I've never been a morning person and waking before the sun comes up does my head in! Just wanting to find out if this is an average time for toddlers to wake up?? Im going to keep trying to resettle her, today she woke at 6, I changed her and put her back and she was quiet until around 640 but I don't think she actually slept, and then grizzled until I brought her into bed with me for a while until the house warmed up a bit.

So, what time does your toddler wake up!? Is it reasonable to at least want the sun to be up before getting them up!?

Sorry Tan, my boy got up between 4am-4.30am until he was about 3 years old. It has gradually become a bit later and he now gets up at 6 (he's now 5).

My first DD was up at 6ish for a long time when she was younger, now she's nearly 3 and wakes between 6.30 and 7.30. Today it was 6.30 for both my tots!

    Cheers,

Some children are just early risers. A friend of mine used to get a lot done in the 2hrs from when she got up with her youngest son to when the rest of the family woke up. She may just be going through a phase and might settle down again soon though - but its hard to say. Not what you want to hear though I bet LOL.

Oh you dont want to hear that she'll drop her day sleeps in the next few month then either do you

Or you could always think yourself lucky - Im jealous she doesnt wake through the night like Vy has done since she was 15 months old.

My second eldest use to go to sleep at 2am and then wake at 5.30,,,ow that was a joy. If any of my kids wake early I take it as an opportunity to get something done without 4 kids hanging of me...even if its sitting and folding the washing.

She's probably sencing that your about to have the baby too...I swear girls do stupid things to us when were pg

Sorry Tan, but they're all different, my son has always been an early riser, between 5am-5:30am everyday he's now 3.5 years old! My daughter wasa always around the 7am-8am riser until about 6months ago when she started to get up at 5:30am-6am she'll be 6 next month!

    Best of luck,

Arrrrrrrgggghhhh I knew it! Maz - she still has 2 day sleeps, one she occasionally won't go down for but is soooo tired if she doesn't have it, but if she wakes early like she did today she still needs both naps!
Ok, so Im am going to be glad she sleeps through and it isn't 4-5am! Lots of people have said they pick up on the pregnancy - interesting to see what will happen when this little guy actually gets here!
